JERRY JACOBY (1938 - 2018)

Jerry was a Nebraska native artist, known internationally for his diverse styles and mediums. He was born in Lincoln where he received his bachelors and master’s degrees in fine arts at the University of Nebraska. He endured longtime eyesight problems that would not prevent him from being a prolific artist having done several thousand works in his lifetime, most commissioned. He began his career as a commercial graphic artist drawing, freehand, buildings for developers and architects. He has been a professional independent artist since the early 1970’s. His works are in museums in the United States and Europe.

His physical talent was nearly matched by his musical talent playing primarily various saxophones. He was often found in jazz clubs, Creighton University basketball games, with the Gulizia Brothers and many private venues.
